Dental services for children enrolled in FAMIS or FAMIS Plus are provided through the Smiles For Children program. There are no costs or co-payments for dental care services in the Smiles For Children program. For questions or to find a dentist in your area, call Smiles For Children at 1-888-912-3456.

Medicaid DentaQuest

Effective 7/1/21, Adults with Medicaid have Dental Coverage including: Cleanings and preventive care, X-Rays and exams, Fillings, Dentures, Root canals, Gum-related treatment, and Oral surgeries. Contact a DentaQuest representative at 1-888-912-3456 to find a dentist and learn more about the new dental benefit. Transportation services are available to Medicaid members for their dentist appointments.

Northern Virginia Dental Clinic

Northern Virginia Dental Clinic (NVDC) is a facility where low-income residents from throughout the Northern Virginia region can access oral health care services. They accept only those individuals deemed eligible through an established network of referring social service agencies based on where they live in Northern Virginia. Fairfax County residents should contact Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222- 0880 to get a referral.

NOVA Dental is a safety net dental clinic. They provide dental care for individuals regardless of their insurance status. They will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your immediate needs. We will provide access to affordable, comprehensive dental care services for low-income, uninsured individuals.

They offer dental exams and screenings, X-rays, oral health education, sealants, fillings, extractions, pulpotomies for all and stainless-steel crowns for children. For patients who make less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), Neighborhood Health has a Sliding Fee Discount Scale. They will not deny care due to inability to pay.
