Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities established the Emergency Assistance program to assist those who are experiencing a one-time financial crisis in their lives. Assistance is given on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applicant must be a resident of the Diocese of Arlington and must not live in subsidized housing. They must be able to communicate via email and phone and attend a Zoom video appointment with the Case Manager. They only accept applications for about a week each month usually starting in the second week of the month. Those who are eligible for assistance should email the Catholic Charities Emergency Assistance office at EA-CH@ccda.net, providing your phone number and address. Once you send an email you will receive a screening questionnaire which must be completed entirely in order to receive a response. To receive assistance, you will be asked to provide a proof of income. For rent, you will need a written lease in your name, a late or eviction notice in your name, and a W-9 form (completed by landlord/property manager). For utilities, you will need a written lease in your name and a past due bill in your name. Eligible applicants may receive assistance once in a 12-month period and up to two times in a 10-year cycle.
